Once the major safety questions are covered, move into the details that drivers notice every day. Turn on headlights, daytime running lights, brake lights, reverse lights, turn signals, and hazard lights. They should all work, and the repaired-side lighting should match brightness and alignment on the opposite side.
Look at the windshield and nearby glass for distortion, scratches, or trim that is not seated properly. If a windshield was replaced and your vehicle uses forward-facing cameras, calibration is part of the safety conversation, not an optional extra.
Then inspect the wheels and tires. If the accident affected a corner of the car, look for scuffs, sidewall damage, or a new tire paired with a significantly worn one on the same axle. That may not always be wrong, but it is worth understanding. Uneven tire condition can affect handling, braking, and ride quality.
Check moldings, emblems, wheel liners, undertrays, splash shields, and weather seals. Missing clips and loose trim can turn into rattles, water leaks, or highway noise later.
